Dr Tracy Chandler

At the heart of Dr Tracy Chandler’s practice is the belief that improving how we look has a positive impact on other areas of our life, strengthening our self-assurance and enhancing our well-being.

Medical Director and owner of The Chandler Clinic in Timaru, Dr Chandler is working at the forefront of her field, employing state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical techniques. Tracy’s criteria for the services she provides is that she would not use any technique or treatment that she herself was not willing to have done. It is hard to imagine a higher standard of approval!

The greatest reward that comes from her work is the benefit that her clients experience after simple cosmetic medicine procedures. Tracy’s favourite example is the client who, after having Botox in her frown line, received comments that she appeared less angry.  Many women comment on how they feel refreshed and more confident after visiting The Chandler Clinic.  "We are proud of the many testimonials we receive".

Dr Tracy Chandler completed her primary medical training in England. She then worked as a GP in Timaru before doing further post-graduate training in cosmetic medicine. Her decision to specialise in Cosmetic Medicine evolved through her experience as a GP and her increasing awareness of the impact problems to do with appearance have on an individual’s self esteem.

As a practicing GP Tracy knew very little about the business world but has thrived on the challenge of establishing and managing The Chandler Clinic. Tracy’s vision, her commitment to Cosmetic Medicine and her attention to detail in all areas of the clinic’s operation have been key to the substantial growth of 600% in the past twelve months.

At The Chandler Clinic treatment is not simply a clinical act but is a process that incorporates a deep respect for the individuality of clients. Clients have the opportunity to choose acupuncture and breathing techniques, which help to alleviate any anxiety.

The theme underlying the clinic’s recent refurbishment is one of subtle elegance. The ambience of the rooms is both calm and inspired. Clients are assured of complete confidentiality and the discrete surroundings reiterate this ethos.

Tracy was born in Canada and grew up in England and after a working stopover in the city convinced her that South Canterbury was an area in which she would like to settle. She is married to her soulmate Grant and they have seven children:  Melissa, Tom, Helen, Callum, Emily, Rebecca and Charlotte. “Timaru is wonderful place to raise children,” says Tracy. Tracy also relishes the vigour and optimism of the South Canterbury business community.

Dr Tracy Chandler’s natural warmth and the integrity of her treatment practice and business philosophy makes the Timaru-based Cosmetic Medicine Clinic one of a kind. Looking the best we can at any age is not something we should feel guilty over. The benefits that can be experienced from cosmetic medicine can have a positive influence on other areas of our lives. In the words of the Latin proverb: “confidence begets confidence” (fides facit fidem!).
